Melbourne Tutor in GAMSAT, Greek, Maths, Physics (see below for full list of subjects and levels).

I am a currently completing a masters degree in theoretical particle physics at the University of Melbourne. As an undergraduate I specialised in mathematical physics,
neuroscience and ancient languages (Greek, Latin and Sanskrit).

I have been tutoring privately for five years now, and teaching at both secondary and tertiary levels for the past two. I currently teach at the University of Melbourne as a laboratory demonstrator for first-year physics students, and at the Centre for Adult Education (CAE) where I teach Modern Greek.

My experience teaching a wide range of subjects has taught me how best to explain difficult concepts to students in a clear and understandable way. I am very passionate about the subjects that I teach, and I hope to pass that passion to you!

I currently provide tutoring for the following subjects

– Physics: VCE, quantum mechanics, relativity, electromagnetism
– Mathematics: VCE (specialist mathematics, mathematical methods), calculus, linear
algebra
– Modern Greek: VCE, second language learning
Ancient Greek: tertiary, Homer, koine and New Testament Greek, 5th century Athenian Greek

Amazon Studios

How do I start a series project at Amazon Studios?

You can start a new series project at Amazon Studios by uploading a pilot script and a mini-bible that is wholly new to Amazon Studios and free of any elements from series ideas already at Amazon Studios. For primetime comedy, the pilot script should be a 22-minute story. For children’s series, the script may be 11, or 22 minutes. The mini-bible should be between two and six pages and describe your vision for the series (see our mini-bible FAQ). The script and mini-bible must be uploaded at the same time. If you have video, for example an animation test or a pilot, you are encouraged to upload that as well, but it is not required. Project creators must have full rights to the series idea and identify all individuals involved (e.g., writer and character designer) at the time of upload.

You can submit your series publicly on the site in order to start a project, or choose to upload it for private review. Either way, it will be evaluated by our development staff.

How to draw children

http://learn-how-to-draw-now.com/How-To-Draw-Women-Men-Children-Part-4.html

http://www.idrawdigital.com/2009/01/drawing-the-human-form-proportions-from-child-to-adult/

Proportions between adults and children

Note the following proportion differences:

  • Adult = 8 heads tall, with a head size of 9 inches
  • 15 year old = 7 1/2 heads tall with a head size of 9 inches
  • 10 year old = 7 heads tall with a head size of 7 1/2 inches
  • 5 years old = 6 heads tall with a head size of 7 inches
  • 3 years old = 5 heads tall with a head size of 6 1/2 inches
  • 1 year old = 4 heads tall with a head size of 6 inches

(Prodos: Above chat, not that accurate, but conveys the idea)

Section on sketching children. Discusses body proportions at different ages:

http://train-srv.manipalu.com/wpress/?p=118262

Here is an extract from “Painting and Drawing Children” by John Norton:

Children’s figure proportions are vastly different from those of adults.

The height of a newborn baby is four times the length of its head.

While a full-grown adult is between seven and a half and eight heads tall.

Because the thyroid is still small, the neck of a child is quite short and almost contiguous with the shoulders.

As compared with those of an adult, the limbs of a child are short in relation to the torso.

Consequently, the mid-height of a very young child occurs at the level of the navel, while that of an adult is located in the pubic region. As the child grows, the limbs lengthen and these proportions change significantly.

At the age of one year, a child is fouir and a half heads tall; from then until the age of six the body grows to five or five and a half time times the length of the head.

The mid-height at age six is located between the navel and the pubic bone.

From ten to fifteen years of age the body reaches between six and seven heads in height.

Since the proportions of arms to body is by this time the same in children as in adults, a child’s hands reach almost to the middle of the thigh when the arm hangs at the side of the figure.
